A Plan to Strengthen Student Success at Marshall Public Schools

Marshall Public Schools’ mission is to educate, support, and prepare all learners for success. That means meeting every student where they’re at — and giving them the tools, guidance, and opportunities they need to thrive.

We’re proud of the progress we’ve made in academic achievement, career-readiness, and student well-being. But now, we face serious financial challenges that put those gains at risk.

On November 4, 2025, voters in Marshall Public School District will consider a 10-year operating levy to provide stable, local funding for our schools and avoid major cuts to teachers, staff and programs that support student learning.

  • If approved: The district will be able to maintain academic and student services, retain talented and experienced teachers and staff, and invest in hands-on learning opportunities like career and technical education.

  • If rejected: Our district will cut approximately $1.9 million from our current budget. These cuts would include 29 staff positions across all schools, in addition to reductions to programming and transportation routes.

We invite you to explore this website to learn more about our district’s progress, the facts behind our financial challenges, and what’s at stake in the upcoming referendum.
